What Street Prices Say About Ghana’s Economy
Today's Cedi Board® brings a snapshot of daily life in Ghana — and it’s getting more expensive. The prices of bottled water, coconut, and roasted plantain, everyday items for many Ghanaians, have jumped sharply since 2023:
Coconut: GHS 5–7 now, up 25% from GHS 4 in 2023.
Bottled Water (0.5L): GHS 3 now, up 20% from GHS 2.5.
Roasted Plantain (per slice): GHS 5–7 now, up 67% from GHS 3.
